InduBa

Industrial battery storage in Belgium

InduBa is a Belgian company that designs, simulates and installs industrial battery storage with its own energy management system (EMS) for businesses and farms in Flanders. InduBa is a brand of GraNext BV, based in Tongeren in the province of Limburg, and is also active in Germany.

Every project starts with a simulation on your own quarter-hour metering data from Fluvius. When a battery does not pay off, we say so: about 4 in 10 requests are advised against.

What an industrial battery does for a business in Flanders

It lowers your capacity tariff. In Flanders you pay grid costs on your highest quarter-hour peak of each month, averaged over 12 months, with a minimum of 2.5 kW. In the Fluvius Limburg grid area the 2026 rate is €49.05 per kW per year, excl. VAT; in the other Flemish grid areas it ranges from €49.40 to €57.10. A peak that is 50 kW lower saves €2,453 per year in Limburg, on the capacity tariff alone. Read more about the capacity tariff.

It buys power when it is cheap. On the EPEX day-ahead market the price changes every quarter hour. With a dynamic contract, the battery charges at the lowest or negative prices and supplies power when it is expensive. On 26 April 2026 the Belgian price fell to a record −479.27 euros per megawatt hour.

It keeps your own solar power on site. Instead of selling surplus solar power for little, you store it and use it later in the day.

It protects you against rising grid costs. The Flemish regulator VNR expects transmission costs for grid users in Flanders to rise by about 10 percent in 2027, or about 20 percent if CREG brings forward its discounts for large industry. What that means for businesses.

Systems and grid connection

Battery systems. The InduBa SME with 64, 80 or 96 kWh for farms and SMEs, the PowerVault (261 kWh) and the Max (3.44 MWh) for industrial sites. PowerBridge adds backup and off-grid operation, switching over in less than 15 ms. All systems use LFP cells. See our products.

Below 30 kVA. In Belgium, a grid decoupling panel (NOB) is required when the total inverter capacity on a site exceeds 30 kVA, existing solar panels included. Where it fits, we design below that limit. A NOB costs between €8,000 and €45,000, depending on your requirements and the electrical capacity of your site.

Medium voltage and Telecontrol 5. For 100 kW or more on your own medium-voltage substation, Fluvius Telecontrol 5 is mandatory. We work with EME Bordenbouw, whose eCON+ panel is certified for Fluvius Telecontrol 5 and live tested on a Fluvius RTU.

Installation. 1 to 2 days below 30 kVA, 2 to 4 days including inspection between 30 and 100 kVA.

Subsidies. Farms get VLIF support: 40% on the first 100 kWh (maximum €18,086), or 50% for young farmers under 40 (maximum €22,607.50). Organic farms follow the same rules. Companies may qualify for the enhanced investment deduction; your accountant confirms what applies. See VLIF subsidy (in Dutch).

How it works

  1. Download your quarter-hour data from Mijn Fluvius. Our guide shows how in 5 steps.
  2. Send it to us through the upload form. We simulate the battery quarter by quarter, with historical EPEX prices and the solar production at your site. Free, within 3 working days.
  3. You get an honest answer. The payback time follows from that simulation, not from a rule of thumb. If a battery does not pay off for you, we tell you.

The InduBa EMS comes with every system, without a subscription and without a tie to an energy supplier. If something goes wrong, you get support within 24 hours.

In practice. At Merger BV in Tongeren, InduBa installed a 1,032 kWh system on medium voltage. The monthly peak went from 170 kW to 85 kW. Read the case.

Frequently asked questions

Who is InduBa?

InduBa is a Belgian company from Tongeren (Limburg) that designs, simulates and installs industrial battery storage with its own energy management system for businesses and farms in Flanders. It is a brand of GraNext BV and is also active in Germany.

What does an industrial battery cost in Belgium?

That depends on the capacity, the power, your grid connection and whether a grid decoupling panel (NOB) is needed, which costs between €8,000 and €45,000. InduBa gives a price after a free simulation on your own quarter-hour data, for the system that fits your consumption.

When do I need a grid decoupling panel (NOB)?

When the total inverter capacity on your site exceeds 30 kVA, existing solar panels included. Where it fits, InduBa designs below 30 kVA so no NOB is needed.

Is there a subsidy for battery storage in Flanders?

Farms get VLIF support: 40% on the first 100 kWh (maximum €18,086), or 50% for young farmers under 40 (maximum €22,607.50). Companies may qualify for the enhanced investment deduction; your accountant confirms what applies.

How long does installation take?

1 to 2 days below 30 kVA, and 2 to 4 days including inspection between 30 and 100 kVA.

Where does InduBa work?

In Belgium, InduBa works across Flanders, with Limburg as its home base. InduBa is also active in Germany.
