Belgian regulation around battery storage is evolving rapidly. Fluvius Telecontrol 5 is mandatory for BESS systems of 100 kW or more connected to a dedicated medium-voltage substation. In February 2026, the Flemish Grid Regulator launched a proposal to extend the TC5 requirement to all batteries from 100 kVA upwards.

Fluvius Telecontrol 5: integrated live
Our EMS communicates via Modbus TCP with the eCON+ panel. The eCON+ translates that into the IEC 60870-5-104 SCADA protocol Fluvius requires. In practice: your EMS does not need to support a complex SCADA protocol. The eCON+ does that. And we test everything before delivery on a live Fluvius RTU system.
Engineering with margin. No compromises
We dimension as standard with a 20% margin: at 100% battery load, the NOB operates at 80%. That protects the power components. Even during sustained peaks. A drying installation running at full power for hours? No overheating. No faults.
